The Virgo New Moon is the Goddess of the Harvest. Her power exists in her ability to discern. The farmers deliver the harvest in bushels and baskets at her feet. She appraises and sorts; good bean here, bad bean there. Through her effort, the bounty is made even more beautiful. Through her attention to detail, the fruits of labor are made even more perfect.

There’s a moving and adaptive energy to this New Moon. You may find yourself sorting. You may find your thoughts moving quickly, making appraisals. Making decisions. Making things better, but sometimes making yourself batty with the heightened need to find perfection.

Your salve is in the forest, at the beach, in the park. Get your feet and your body close to the Earth. Get yourself grounded in the undeniable perfection that exists in a blade of grass.

You are picking flowers. Juicy petals flutter to the ground. More and more petals. They come in all colors like a fan of paint chips arranged by category, number, and increasingly contrived moniker. The flower petals are so delicious they could offer you nutrition for days. You chew and chew and still can’t get enough of their gummy colors.

It’s a dream and you wake up. The flowers are no longer edible and the colors fade away. What is a dream? A trip to another dimension or a subconscious construction?

With the dreamboat 2017 Pisces Full Moon opposite the meticulous Sun in Virgo, we’re asked to explore the intersection between effervescent vision and corporeal reality.

This Moon’s message is that if you remain aware of the power of the Now, you can transcend your mundane problems and make contact with an otherworldly dimension. Once you get there, it’s easy to remember your soul’s true state of love and connection.

New Moon Solar Eclipse :: August 21 2017 :: 2:30pm ET :: 28 degrees Leo 

An eclipse is like a huge inhale. A complete exhale. And then stop. Hold your breath. At the next inhale it seems as if even your cells spin in a different direction.

At the next inhale everything will be different …

Eclipses are about reset. Something must be let go of. Something new must begin. The way that you recalibrate yourself now— both in your private inner world and outside in the public world, matters. The effects of this reset may not be fully felt for six more months. But the calibration is happening now.

During this Leo New Moon, the Sun and the Moon line up, as they do at every New Moon. But now they are also in direct line with the Earth. The Moon’s shadow falls over the Sun. The Sun appears darkened. The light of the core energy source is “extinguished.” In the void of light, new seeds can be planted. A new code can be written.

The Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse wants you to drop your ego and let true love shine out of your heart center.

Leo is the sign of fiery love. All fire signs take action- fire only exists in the activity of the dancing flame. Leo shows that it’s not enough to just love. It’s necessary to bring your love into action.

It’s time to put love in the driver’s seat. Go somewhere. Do something. Use ALL of the four elements to manifest change in the world. Use your words (Air element), use your action (Fire element), use your resources (Earth element), use love and prayer (Water element).

The path forward is not simple. A paradigm shift is never easy. The energy of this New Moon is high. There’s a shortage of patience and a high potential of being triggered.

You need a plan, so you can move in alignment with your intention. How do you want to act? How do you want to be? Decide how you will take care of yourself, how you will confront your beliefs, how you will take action in the coming months, and how you will follow through on this plan.

Let the calibration and reset that is available for you now be fully intentional.

Full Moon :: August 7, 2017 :: 2:12pm EDT :: 15 degrees Aquarius

Perch on the tallest tree and and hold on tightly. You are the crow and you have the bird’s-eye view. Survey your kingdom. The crow sees everything. The crow is wise and alert to danger. Leo the lion blusters and roars, while the Crow simply caws and then moves to the next branch. Piercingly observant and intently vocal.

On Monday, August 7th, the Sun moves Opposite the Moon. The two luminaries and the Earth form a line-up (the Earth in the middle) and the Moon’s light is blocked out by the Earth’s shadow—creating an experience of emotional reset. Potentially helping you shift into a new emotional pattern.

If you want to understand the opposition of the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, meditate on the energies of the Lion (Leo) and the Crow (Aquarius).

See yourself first as the magnificent Lion. This symbol represents the power of your courageous and passionate heart. An obvious monarch, the Lion’s size, strength and and kingly presence has a ripple effect on the entire animal kingdom. This is steady, vibrant, self-contained energy. Remind yourself during this Full Moon phase to sit on your throne and nestle into your power.

But. And. With every Full Moon there is a challenge. Your mission at this time is to fill your heart with strong, confident Lion Love, yet at the same time release your ego.

That’s where the Crow comes in. The Crow is not a traditional symbol of Aquarius, but it flew swiftly into my mind. The Crow encourages you to fly outside of yourself. To soar away from ego and closer to the magic of the collective wisdom. When the Crow is around, a change in consciousness is possible.

Land on the tallest tree in your imagination and first observe yourself. Release your typical mindset and look for innovative answers. The 2017 Aquarius Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is reminding you to think about things in a new way. To become the detached researcher. Take notes. Watch yourself, notice how you’re reacting. Determine which patterns are ready for a reset.

Your connection to ego is being challenged. Any pain experienced in this phase probably has to do with your attachment to ego. Keep stepping back. Keep observing. Continue to help your mind catch the jet stream of a different perspective.

Moving and meditating on a cloud, high up in the sky. “Up in the clouds” is about being in an imaginative state. Away from the “reality” of Earth. Can you meditate on a higher vibration? Lift yourself to a higher state of mind? You are abundantly supported in this. All you have to do is coax your mind into that state.

Jupiter lends an easy aspect with this Full Moon, helping us relax into the shifts that are occurring with grace and harmony. Jupiter is traditionally “good luck.” I like to think of luck as a vibration that you must take a step toward. It won’t happen if you are pushing it away. Get up on that cloud, raise your vibration and let the luck flow in.

You may want to be (or need to be) very busy at this Full Moon phase. Chomp, chomp, chomp. Taking a bite out of life. Be aware of your activity and keep yourself nourished throughout the push. Let yourself breathe and rest. It’s fine to be very active at this time. The Full Moon is a time to harvest everything that we’ve created since the New Moon two weeks ago. So celebrate! Flourish!

Meanwhile create plenty of space for the nurturance of your emotions. Mars brings fire to this Full Moon. Notice your anger. Respect your anger and let it flow. Tend to it so that it is safely released. You don’t need to “act out” to express your anger. You just need to give it a space to go. It needs to be acknowledged.

The only constant is change—and during the August 2017 cosmic craziness, massive change is upon us.

Mercury retro will only sweeten the Eclipse Season pot. While this retrograde often gets a bad name, it’s actually a critical time to slow down, and connect deeply with the internal, intuitive voice that supports our soul’s growth. It’s potent medicine for those of us who live in the frenzy of go-go-go!

Thankfully, the August 7 Full Moon Eclipse positively aspects Jupiter—the planet of good luck, fortune, and abundance. This combo suggests that while this period is unpredictable in nature, benevolence still abounds.

The August 21 New Moon Eclipse trines Uranus, and will be responsible for MAJOR breakthroughs and a shift in power. At the end of the month, we’ll find ourselves in very different circumstances on a personal, and maybe even political, level. Given how close the Sun will be traveling to Mars, things will move fast regardless of Mercury in retrograde.

So move forward fearlessly, but do so with a deep connection to your WHY, and your key personal values. Keep on open mind, and understand that the only constant is change.

Now’s not the time to hold the reins too tight or overreact to anything. Mind your thoughts, words, and actions. Stay centered and focused on what matters most. Let the rest go!

With all the fire in the sky this month, it’s important to consider the two extreme expressions of Leo energy: as symbolized by the Thoth Tarot card “Lust,” and the Rider-Waite Tarot card “Strength.”

Both rule Leo, but one card has our passions so inflamed that we are naked with lust, riding a lion, not paying attention to where we are going. The strength card has us taming the same lion, and he’s calm and cool but ready to strike if needed.

So, what’s an eclipse anyway? Eclipses mark a major shift in the electromagnetic field. And because we are all energetic beings, we will all feel … something. Whether it’s up, down, hyper, sad, emotional, ungrounded … these feelings will be accompanied by an urgency for change.

How can you tell if the major August 21st eclipse will affect your chart? Calculate your chart for free HERE and look to any planets or points within 3-4 degrees of 28 degrees of Leo, or in aspect to that degree (especially squares, oppositions, conjunctions, and trines). Thankfully, eclipses don’t directly aspect everyone’s charts because if they did, we’d be completely overwhelmed by major changes every 6 months! However, we all have Leo somewhere in our charts, so some kind of shift WILL occur …

Look at which house is ruled by Leo, for an indication as to the area of life most affected by the August 21 eclipse.

If there is a direct aspect to this eclipse in my chart, what’s going to happen to me? Whatever planet is involved with 28 degrees of Leo is getting “eclipsed,” which means it’s time to change how that planet’s energy is used. Sometimes it’s an obvious change like the end of a relationship or a work shift, but sometimes it’s less obvious inner work. Regardless, it’s your chance to move up the spiritual ladder.

The August 2017 eclipse season reminds us there is no good or bad. You’ve simply signed up for these fated events in order to move you along your spiritual path (a.k.a. your life!)

How long will this take? Is it just happening on the day of the eclipse? Give it time. There may have been a build-up to a decision made on this date, and / or events may unfold over the following 6 months. Sometimes it takes a year or more for the impact of an eclipse to be fully realized. Combined with Mercury retro, some of the events will likely be delayed until the end of September/beginning of October.

One thing is for sure: the August 2017 eclipse season is a big turning point for us all, individually and as a collective. Stay open to the excitement and know that there’s nothing to fear!

Step into a shimmer vortex that offers you a chance to open your heart. For real. Heart opening is an art and a science. This moment demands that you do it for you. No one else.

Every New Moon offers us a chance to recreate ourselves. And right now, this refresh has to do with how you share your heart, and offer the world your unique spark of life. But how do you truly share your heart? What if it hurts? What if you lose something?

I asked for a message about this moon. I closed my eyes and ran my fingertips over my bookshelf. My hand grasped a worn copy of Pride and Prejudice. It seemed like a strange pick—at first. I had assumed that I would end up with one of the many witchy self-actualization books that fill my shelves.

But on further reflection, the message is so clear: Drop your pride and drop your prejudice. Yes, you need boundaries around your heart. You need to protect it. But when a scared inner child is no longer running the show, it’s possible to feel safe and to share open-hearted love at the same time.

“Opening” means allowing your heart to be soft and vulnerable. Not proud. Not prejudiced. No barbed-wire every time you get triggered. And you don’t have to be happy to have an open heart. You can open your heart when you are mad, or sad, or frustrated. Try it.

This Moon demands that you open your heart, because Leo teaches us about love. Leo begs us to let our unique spark of life force energy, of spirit, move out into the world. To beam out through our heart chakra and connect with others.

The connection can happen through an exchange of love, through creative expression, or through playfulness. Meditate on each of these modalities, and choose one that seems right for you to explore during this Moon phase.

As you move through the day notice when pride or prejudice take over, and give your tender ego a big dose of empathy. Visualize your heart opening even through challenging emotions.

The 2017 Leo New Moon is asking you to shine. Do this at the highest possible vibration by shining beams of gossamer honesty straight out of your heart. Think of this as a gift to yourself.

Because they were never meant to be owned. What made them so unique and alluring was the suddenness, the unexpectedness, the rush of freedom. You can’t plan your own surprise party. And if you try to trap the firefly in your hands for too long, the light goes out.

Instead, invite wildness, invention and genius in. Be a good host. Create space for Inspiration, make her feel comfortable. And let her leave when she’s ready. Build a solid relationship with change, innovation, and the wild unknown.
