TAURUS SEASON 2019: YOU ARE ENOUGH

Taurus Season 2019 brings transits that remind us to trust that we are enough—with nothing to prove, and a potent innate power, says Bess Matassa

Taurus Season 2019 is vivid and alive, ready and willing to receive our lusts and longings. A time for letting the messy, beautiful range of life possess and work through us, Taurus Season 2019 reminds us that when we say “yes” to our status as part of these natural cycles, we can find radiance by moving to the rhythm of what simply is.

The season opens with Venus’ shift into Aries, and a one-two retrograde hit of Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. Later in the season, Mercury and Venus shift into Taurus, while Mars enters Cancer, bringing questions of self protection to the fore. And, as the season closes with a fat Full Moon in Scorpio, we’re asked to hold fast to the gemstones inside of ourselves without gripping, noticing any place where we feel lack and flooding it with the lubrication of a lush, jungle cat kind of love …

Listen to the full Taurus Season 2019 report from Numi resident astrologers Bess + Sandy HERE and read on for more on the 4 key astro events of the coming weeks …

///

Sun in Taurus (4.20-5.21)

Taurus energy asks us to come ever closer to the cusp of what just feels good, resting on the soft petals and sipping the sweet nectar of deservedness without wondering when the honeysuckle might end. Taurus Season 2019 amplifies this pleasure dilation. Where do you think we have to prove something in order to be served? What if you simply had to open your lips and palms and say “thank you” without wondering how you’d earned it? In the weeks to come, simply lie back into whatever feels like a bed of roses, and lap up the cream.

///

Pluto Rx in Capricorn (4.24-10.2) + Saturn Rx in Capricorn (4.29-9.18) conjunct the Moon’s South Node

These two epic retrograde cycles carry us through to the “death” energy of the Scorpionic fall, and ask us to investigate where we place authority and who is really calling the shots and pulling the strings. Where do the “shoulds” in your life come from? What patterns feel like they’re “possessing” you? Take this time to notice the subtle polarities in your power dynamics. Give and take. Full and empty. What does your own power feel like when it’s simply coursing through your veins but doesn’t need a target? It’s a moment for recalibrating the controls and rediscovering a potency that ignites us from the inside out.

///

Venus in Aries (4.20-5.15) + Venus in Taurus (5.15-6.8)

Venus in Aries brings an opportunity to turn over fresh soil on old romantic patterns. An invitation to move towards objects of desire with no strategy, this transit asks us to simply go for it! Like a just born baby animal, trust you will be perceived as all fluff and frolic. Learn to trust in carnal signals and, after Venus moves into Taurus, to go after what your body desires without shame. Harness this transit to quiet the storylines and to navigate your romantic life by touch, taste, and smell.

///

Mars in Cancer (5.15-7.1)

Mars in Cancer harbors its hurts and healing inside a tightly packed shell, while fiercely defending what it loves. This transit is an invitation for us all to slip into our emotion ocean and examine what we can’t let go of. What feelings, memories, and entanglements we would defend with our very lives. There’s no need to try and validate these patterns of protection. Rather, we can take this time to see our defenses as gateways to a deeper understanding of what we truly value. Whatever you’re braving your body against is the secret diary key to what brings you most fully alive.

THE TAURUS WAXING QUARTER MOON WANTS YOU TO GET REAL

As we prepare to catch some serious Eclipse Season crazies, the Taurus Waxing Quarter Moon wants us to root down, nourish our bodies, and get real, says Jennifer Racioppi

Photo: Autumn Goodman

Waxing Quarter Moon :: January 24 2018 :: 5:20pm EST :: 4 degrees Taurus

As we build towards the first of this year’s eclipses on January 31st, we’ve officially entered the cosmic season of unpredicatability, rapid change, and energetic intensity …

Thankfully, the Waxing Quarter Moon in Taurus, a sign known for its stable, grounding principles, forms an earth trine with disciplinarian and lord of karma, Saturn, now firmly footed in Capricorn.

It’s time to steady ourselves before the storm as we deeply tune in to our most embodied, feminine wisdom …

>>>

:: The Cycle ::
As it makes its 29.5 day journey through the entire zodiac, the Moon cycles through four distinctive phases: new, waxing, full, and waning.

This cycle’s tone was set with the January 16 New Moon in Capricorn. Now, as we wax towards full, intensity is elevated and we’re asked to exert ourselves on behalf of the goals and intentions we set at the New Moon.

As your New Moon seeds begins to sprout, now’s the time to aggressively pursue your desires, and also watch out for any curveballs that will help you refine and course correct.

>>>

:: The Transits ::
With the Sun in revolutionary Aquarius right next to feminine Venus, this Taurus Waxing Quarter Moon exemplifies progressive impulses.

At the same time, Mercury, the planet of communication, meets up exactly with Pluto in Capricorn, deepening our ability to see, feel, and understand how we might deceive ourselves on our path of personal development. Use the nourishing, grounded energy of stable Taurus and Saturn to help root down.

>>>

:: The Square ::
With the Sun in Aquarius asking us for progressive changes, squaring the Moon in Taurus, a sign that resists change, we may feel gridlocked. And with the Mercury-Pluto combo revealing shadow tendencies, it’s possible to want to resist the truth that’s presenting itself.

That said, the best possible way to work with this Taurus Waxing Quarter Moon is to embrace radical honesty. Look towards the future (Aquarius influence) while staying nourished, in your body, and connected to the moment (hello, Taurus!)

>>>

:: The Opportunity ::
As we move beyond the first new moon of 2018 and straight into the eye of the eclipse season storm, it’s essential to digest the truths revealing themselves to us now.

The Jan 31 Leo New Moon Lunar Eclipse will further illuminate our soul’s direction, clearing away blocks, and opening up new doorways to potential. In the meantime, use this Taurus Waxing Quarter Moon to get comfortable with reality.

While it might not be what we want, we can’t deny the fact that we know what we know. Tap into innate feminine wisdom by slowing down. Accept the truth.

And then continue to steer full steam ahead in the direction of your desires …

“Get out your scuba gear …”

It’s time to take soul contracts to another level! Jupiter’s transit through Libra set the stage with relationship 101 and now you’re ready to get out your scuba gear and go deep into the heart of your inner truth … Scorpio lives to feel total intimacy with another soul, but it’s only when we develop intimacy within ourselves that we can reach this with another.

Jupiter’s grand plan to expand wants to search and discover all that it can. As such, half of this energy is yearning to open with no limits, while the other is focused diving deeper and deeper within. It’s within this polarity that passion is born …

This transit will help us expand (Jupiter) to where our heart’s deepest desires align with our soul path (Scorpio). Because both Jupiter and Scorpio can be prone to excess at times (both like to devour in different ways), as the transit increases into 2018 you may feel an overwhelming internal need to investigate until you are blue in the face.

This will be a real test of balance, between going deep and uncovering the rhythm of your journey, yet not getting lost in the stories. As you plunge into unconscious territory, there is no beginning and no end.

It will be up to you and your boundaries to “know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, and know when to walk away.”

To find out more about how this will play out in your personal birth chart and to dive deeper into your soul contract, connect with Danielle on Instagram, her website, and in her private Facebook group for women.

“Birth truth from the shadows …”

This planetary shift offers us an opportunity to truly explore our darkness and the places we prefer to hold in the shadows, both collectively and personally. Scorpio asks us to dive deep into our psyche and our soul, and Jupiter asks us to use these deep dives to propel us towards an ideal society.

It’s time to birth a new moral stance on society’s power struggles. My hope is that we can use this cycle to empower all levels of society by fully acknowledging our shadow and the damage overconsumption has caused our planet, considering universal income, and envisioning a version of society that uplifts oppressed populations.

“Extra-strength orgasms & subterranean healing … “

As the largest planet in the solar system travels through sexy Scorpio, get ready to bring your libido up a notch, reveal secrets, and touch on taboo topics.

While this will be particularly strong for Scorpio Suns, Moons, and Rising signs, no matter what your astrological makeup it’s time to embrace the depth this transit offers and come out on top.

While traveling through Scorpio, Jupiter will make a luscious trine of manifestation to Neptune, supporting gains in our spiritual practices and psychological explorations. This may manifest in the increased popularity of medicinal plant-based ceremonies—yet remain mindful of addiction, this is not the time to flirt with substance abuse of any kind.

As Jupiter aspects Pluto in Capricorn on January 15, we’ll have the tenacity to go the distance on behalf of our dreams. And later in the cycle on November 1st, the planet will encounter wounded healer Chiron in a supportive angle of manifestation.

Get ready for some subterranean healing!

“Learning to live with the art of dying …”

By definition, growth is uncomfortable. Like plants, we have to internally or externally fight against gravity in order to break out of the ground. If we can focus on becoming a flower, we have the opportunity to harness Jupiter in Scorpio’s beneficial expansion.

With Scorpio, every transformation necessitates a death or sacrifice. If we sacrifice what is no longer needed, we can create space for something new to grow. It’s time to choose what you throw into the fire and open yourself to regeneration.

On a broader scale, as Jupiter aspects the U.S. birth chart around November 8th, there could be the opportunity for elected officials to break out of the political deadlock and do what is truly best for the country.

As Scorpio also has to do with investments, this cycle could also bring opportunities for entrepreneurs and inventors.

Sacrifice is not always feel easy, but it may feel more optimistic during this time. And if we align ourselves with higher principles and ideals we can be assured a glorious rebirth. This journey will allow us to receive more creativity, more magnetism, and more opportunities to help other people through their death and rebirth process.

“How deep is your love?”

It’s flower food season, cosmic botanists, and Jupiter in Scorpio wants you to dig your hands all the way down into the rich, dark chocolate earth and fully feast on the cycles of longing for, having, losing, and learning to love once again …

Scorpio’s flavor of water energy is the liquid that calcifies into ice castles and amber-encrusted possessions. Yet this “fixed” sign’s highest octave of expression is the willingness to ungrip, open our palms, and let intimate collisions with our most intense desires melt us down into pure gold.

Infused with Jupiter’s swirling nomadic desert energy of freewheeling expansion, it’s a moment to take whatever you’ve been squeezing your heart around out into the high noon sun and finally let it thaw. Let it saturate the parched earth, and feed the juicy fruit salad and riotous tropical blooms that are yet to come. Know that you can absolutely handle the seasons of your life.

Jupiter in Scorpio Mantra: “When I plunge directly into my longing, my passion purifies me.”
Theme Song: Pat Benatar’s Shadows of the Night
Style: Bond girl meets 90s club kid. Think bronze bangles, plunging necklines, cat eyes, and luxe loungewear mixed with the Spice Girls’ ecstasy of sky-high platforms, feather boas, and neon animal prints.
Flavors: Midnight snacks and challenging sweets like rock candies, gemstone colored jello, and tasty leftovers revealed in the glow of the fridge.

PLUTO RETROGRADE 2017: A GUIDE FOR YOUR SIGN

The planet of power, transformation, and absolute intensity can make us want to run and hide. Fear not, says Patricia Clark Hippolyte! Pluto Retrograde 2017 is a super potent moment to embrace our shadow side and let it out into the light…

half woman half skeleton pluto retrograde 2017 The Numinous

Thursday, April 20th :: Pluto Stations Retrograde :: 19 Degrees of Capricorn

Thursday, September 28th :: Pluto Goes Direct :: 16 Degrees of Capricorn

All retrograde cycles allow us to return to the scene of the crime, so to speak. “Why am I dealing with this again?!” you may wonder. That’s the point of a retrograde—any issue that comes up for you will have to be dealt with three times over before you can learn the lesson.

Picture it this way. You’re driving along and go over a speed bump. Then, you put the car in reverse and go over it a second time. And then, you put the car in drive and go over the bump a third time. Simple enough! Except when it’s a Pluto retrograde. This presents a considerably more challenging situation…

Pluto can have bad reputation in the cosmos. But this relates merely to the “lower octave” of the planet’s energy. For example, we’d all like to think we take the higher ground, but we also all have stress, jobs, family, and partners that wear on us. And sometimes we make decisions from a place of insecurity, and end up living a life of deceit rather than face the shit storm. Life is not as pretty as we’d like it to be. We don’t want to admit that it’s complicated and messy so we lie: to ourselves, and to others. This is unrefined Pluto energy.

But Pluto doesn’t lie, people do. You’ve heard the saying “the house always wins”? Well it’s the same with Pluto. This planet’s influence can lead us into shadiness OR it can invite us towards transformation by asking us to step into the darker version of ourselves, the shadow self.

With Pluto transits, it can feel as if the elephant in the room can no longer be avoided. And if you’re willing to surrender to Pluto’s challenges, you can harness his transformational edge. Pluto protects us, keeps us on our toes, and magnetizes us to objects of desire. And after Pluto has taken you down, down, down, there is an immense potential for personal growth.

Cause without the darkness…there is no light, right?!

>>>

To discover what lessons Pluto retrograde has for you, check out where Pluto retrograde is backing up in your birth chart right now. This means look to the house with 16—19 degrees of Capricorn.

When Pluto transits a house, it makes for some interesting transformations relating to that particular area of life. Think change, regeneration, and perhaps a little bit of secrecy and subversion. Pluto digs up what we’ve buried. But don’t worry—these changes are inevitable and necessary. Embrace whatever is surfacing!

>>>

:: Capricorn Rising—1st House :: Changing how you see yourself and reshaping your personality. Getting a grip on unconscious drives and urges to control people, situations and, well, … EVERYTHING!

>>>

:: Sagittarius Rising—2nd House :: A value system overhaul—both psychologically and materially. Don’t buy the McMansion just yet. You may yet discover it’s not what “luxury” truly means to you.

>>>

:: Scorpio Rising—3rd House :: Intensified thought processes and conversations. Be wary of black and white attitudes that bypass the gray, and rule out the opportunity for productive discourse.

>>>

:: Libra Rising—4th House :: Grappling internally with problems from childhood and family … it’s always Mom, isn’t it! On the outside, changes in your relationship to home—repairing your living space or moving entirely.

>>>

:: Virgo Rising—5th House :: Intensified relationship patterns—either the beginnings of a magnetic new relationship or the break down of old patterns in a current relationship. If you have children, there may be some power struggles!

>>>

:: Leo Rising—6th House :: Transformation of your health and daily routine—physical regeneration through good dietary choices or a possible breakdown of poor dietary habits.

>>>

:: Cancer Rising—7th House :: Embarking on an “amazing ’til it isn’t” relationship or being challenged to change your present relationship. Seeing power plays in partnerships for what they really are.

>>>

:: Gemini Rising—8th House :: Be careful with any joint possessions or other people’s resources—think your spouse’s or employer’s. Also a time to get familiar with any unmet desires.

>>>

:: Taurus Rising—9th House :: A great moment for absorbing and learning from experience, and gaining new knowledge. What beliefs have you been blindly holding onto, and where are you getting woke?

>>>

:: Aries Rising—10th House :: If you know where you’re at with your career, there’s a good chance of success at this time. If you’re uncertain, there’s a high chance of a total change of path.

>>>

:: Pisces Rising—11th House :: A perfect time to seek out more like-minded friends who will aid you in your transformations. It’s also a good moment for prioritizing actions that truly give back.

>>>

:: Aquarius Rising—12th House :: A game of psychological chess with yourself! It’s time to deal with old patterns and behaviors that worked in childhood but don’t translate now (read: no more tantrums on the floor!)
